Random self talk I use to get me back on the right path if things get a bit too darky dark
Should I give up?
- No, work on hard things to make you better able to work on harder things in the future
- This mission matters. If you don't build it, it may never come to life. Do not rob the future of the good you can bring it for yourself, your loved ones, and the world
- People are putting rovers on Mars or mining for 16 hours a day in 100 degree weather to push the frontier of humanity or provide for their families. Don't be a little bitch.
- Be grateful that you get this opportunity to work on such amazing, valuable work. Be grateful you were put in a position to make 1 other person's life better. Be grateful that you were born here today with all your abilities to produce a positive affect on the world around you.
- Be present, focus on now. Appreciating the moment and doing what you can today right now. In 10 years, you'll look back at everything magically falling into place over time. From this side, you can't see the good stuff.
- Realize that you've been through this before, and you always make it out alive and on top.
- Nothing is impossible, everything is an engineering problem. You chip away at the ambiguity, unknown, lump of work to go until you have something that barely passes the test. You engineer the negative outcomes and risk away until you have something that just might work. Then you work harder until that becomes something that very well may work. Every day, chipping away over and over until you have a product that the world wants badly. With enough willpower and focus, anything is achievable
