As we know, [[Time is the Most Fundamental Resource]]. So, one of the most important things you can do is think about where and how to spend that time

It’s important to be very intentional in how we build these buckets and allocate our time. Spending it on the wrong thing makes you inefficient and unfulfilled. Spending it on the right things makes you hyper productive and a force of nature that history remembers. That difference makes a life worth living or not. An [[Unexamined Life]] is not worth living.

So! Here’s how I like to build my buckets:

I count my weeks. I set a goal of myself to spend x amount of time on y "category" per week.

I like to think of my days and weeks in discrete units or buckets. It helps remind me how short time is, helps me measure my life often so I don’t get stuck in a continuous unmemorable lull, and helps me gauge how quickly I should get things done.

Side note: I also spend an hour or two each each just reviewing what happened this week, how it tracks to my goals, and what I should do differently for the week ahead. I call this meta-work [[System Level Work]]

This is how I currently structure my weeks:

One trap I think is common is not thinking enough about a few buckets - happiness, relationships, doing things that make you 1) happier, 2) more romantic, and 3) full

This post is a work in progress. I’d put it in the marinating phase. Will finish this later.
